Default 150hp Yamaha Four Stroke?

Has anyone run a 70's era Potter 20'SF with a Yamaha 150hp 4 Stroke? I'm looking at possibly purchasing this setup and was wondering if this engine is too heavy for this boat? If so, I could always sell the engine and repower. Any insight is very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Default Re: 150hp Yamaha Four Stroke?

Put an 150 on my MA before the restore. Had to plug the factory drains. Pushed the boat about 41-43mph. Thats with full curtains, t-top, and bow dodger. Now my floor is 5" above factory floor, so she should selfbail now. I now have 20"freeboard, that is what the SF is factory though. I got well over 4mpg cruising about 25-28mph. Putting a bracket on it so I hope to see 45mph..
