Trailer for 23' IB
I got a ton of useful information out of my previous post about ib vs ob pros and cons. I'm sea trialing this weekend, and hope to have a new boat in the next 2 weeks!
One problem I am running into is finding a trailer for the inboard. I'm told it draws 28", so I would guess the trailer needs at least 24" from the top of the bunks to the top of the aft cross beam. I've contacted a handful of knowledgable folks in MA, but so far no luck. If anyone has any leads on a dual axle bunk trailer that will handle the 23' inboard, please let me know. Thanks! |

Re: Trailer for 23' IB
Call Owens Brothers Trailer in St Petersburg Florida. They are great people who will have built a trailer for that boat. They even had built some for Seafari 25s and had the records to replicate it. Its a hike for you, but maybe they have some idea how to get a trailer up there cheaply.

Thanks guys. I'll try the folks at Owens.
Heynow, can you send me the make and model of your trailer when you have a chance? Did it come with the boat or did you buy it separate? |

Re: Trailer for 23' IB
If it helps mine rides nice on a Venture aluminum trailer. It too has about 12" bunks which keep the running gear about 6" off the road. I bought it through SouthCoast Yacht Sales in New Bedford. Cost was around $3500.

Re: Trailer for 23' IB
Thanks guys. I spoke with the guy in Mashpee. He has a big inventory, but nothing used that will work for the inboard. At this point I may end up with a new one, or I may just ship the boat up and go without the trailer for a while. Have a couple reasonable bids on Uship.

Re: Trailer for 23' IB
Also check with jason at Peterson Trailer.
Very close to Tampa and will build you a very nice AL trailer. I checked with Owens as they are also local to me but Peterson had a better price for the same trailler that has all SS hardware. http://www.petersontrailers.com/ Tell him Glen with the green contender sent you...

Re: Trailer for 23' IB
Ditto!!! Jason has built both of my trailers, just did the trailer for my Hewes to my exact requirements a couple of months ago. He only builds his trailers now with all SS bolts, aluminum bunks, double bend I-beam frame and torsion axles. Even built with what are upgrades for most other companies his prices are very competitive.
