Default Trailer setup for 23 hull

I wanted to see how everyone had there bunks setup for a 23 hull
I currently have an older float on trailer. The bunks rest on the lower section of the hull. I will try and post some pictures. The float on needs some work specifically new torsion axles. There are also no brakes. So I am trying to figure out if it is worth it to spend the money on new axles and brakes. Roughly 1100 dollars from float on. The trailer tows great but do to it's narrowness the bunks only can rest in there current position.
If I went with a new trailer that is wider the bunks would rest farther out wards on the hull.

I have been trailering my 23' here in so Fl for 27 years with a Float-on type trailer. I'm not a trailer Guru but I know what works for my 23' SeaCraft

1.) I would advise setting the bunks under the hull's stringers. The bunks are set 54 1/2" apart (Outside Edges)

Notice they are inside of the trim tabs and clear any salt water intake strainers or Transducers.

2.) Construct a Center Chock matching your VDR coupled with forward guide bunks. These will line up the hull when loading every time.

3.) Don't Skimp, your investment depends on your ability to STOP. Stainless Steel Rotors & Disc Brakes are mandatory.

Sorry this is a set-up for a 20 SF, but still works the same for the 23 as well.

1980 Continental roller trailer!!
Never ever has it seen a fresh water launch...

8- 12 inch Stoltz greasable rollers and 8- 4 inch
Stoltz donunt rollers... 912C 10,000 lb. Power Winch
with stainless lanyard cable to back of trailer.
2 X 12 Cedar walk board...
1 man show to launch and load!

Every nut, bolt & U bolt are stainless. Galvanized axle & hubs...

It is basically maintence free.

Thanks guys

Chuck my current trailer ,the bunks sit about the same location as yours I was thinking it would be better for the bunks to sit on the next flat area higher on the hull. The bunks are now 55" but the trailer is also only 55" wide. The bunks are actually I beams mounted on top of the I beam of the trailer.

Does anyone know any one from expeditor.com? They are in Palm Beach not to far away from me but I thought they were only wholesale?

The axles will more then likely come from float on even though they no long make there own but I will also need disc brakes as well as the actuator

I have seen that set-up before. I guess you can use the outside step for placement but I would not like it. I think I would check the GVR of your trailer. Does it have the 10" wheels?. You might be stretching things here for a 23'. You might be able to score a used bigger trailer for less ching your thinking of investing to get her road ready?
Anyone else agree?

chuck remember when i was going through this with my 23 trailer? my trailer was set up like the OP's trailer. it was going to be more than 1500 just in parts. i got a used continental with brakes for $2000. it had rotten bunks so all it needed was lights (no shock there) and new rear bunks.

I had a chance to switch the trailers today with a friends that just happens to fit this boat. I moved the bunks farther out to the outside chine because the trailer is so much wider then my float on.

The boat centered on the trailer well but the bunks are straight and there is only about a foot and half resting on them. You might be able to see it in this picture.

I never noticed the hull having that much curvature
I am having second thoughts on the old trailer.
Everyone keeps telling me how good and strong the old float ons are but it looks so small compared to the magic tilt trailer it is on now temporarily.
