I work for The Atlanta Boat Show every year helping manage the floor during the set up and tear down ,as well as a floor crew member during the show. Well This year we had a giant wake board show set up in the hall, it consisted of 2 ,100000+ gallon 4' deep pools with a bunch of ramps and stuff on a platform in betwen them, the wake borders had a cable and pully system over the tanks that would pull them from one end to the other , then back. An hour and a half before the show was to open yesterday morn ,channel 5 was there filming the guys riding back n forth, as soon as they finished their live broadcast the kid doing the jumping went across one more time atempting to do a back flip. he failed on his landing, when he landed he fell and big wave went over the side of the pool and the whole 100 foot length of the pool side collapsed , 100000 gals of water rushed out into the floor washing the spectator stage , boats, displays, carpet, signs, a few people and almost Me away!, it floated a dozen or so boats that were on dollys and the floor 10 t0 15 feet and they all crashed into each other , I ran to the loading dock and opened the big roll-up doors as fast as I could, water 3" deep ran out the doors and went 1/3 of the way through the hall soaking all carpet, signs and boxes of brochures that were on the floor. Fox 5 filmed the aftermath and I was on the news picking up some of the boats that were moved in the flood. We had every available hand at the GWCC , Serv Pro and several other water removal companys there in less than an hour, we were supposed to open the show at 11 but didnt get it cleaned up enough till around 2.
heres the video from fox 5 Atl Im the guy in the red shirt pushing the yellow boat http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/dpp/news...20120112-am-sd and a few photos I snapped with My cell phone
