Question Bracket or not

If you had the choice would you have a 20 with or without a bracket.I found a pretty nice one with a bracket but I have never ran one with a bracket.LCW:

I have run them both ways and as long as it a flotation bracket, which will compensate for moving the weight of the engine aft,the bracket is the way to go.One drawback is that many marinas will charge for the extra length if you keep it in a slip

Most brackets mfg. these days are watertight flotation chambers usually with a watertight inspection port on the top, this helps to offset the weight of the engine being moved aft. Some of the older brackets are simply standoffs made of tubing and do not provide any flotation,I would avoid this type on a 20 footer.Goodluck

Default Bracket or not

LCW - check out this post I made a little over 3 years ago on Pros & Cons of brackets. http://www.classicseacraft.com/commu...ad.php?t=19779 It should answer most of your questions.
