Erik's possible Seafari 20
Here are some pics of the 1979 Seafari that this guy is asking $5999 for (boat, motor, trailer).
I'll try to post more. |

What's the box behind the helm seat? Any soft spots in the deck? What's the condition of the trailer, winch, rollers and springs? Does it have a bimini or navy top? Those seats with armrests are nicer than the bucket seats on mine; coaming bolsters and cabin upholstery look good. Kinda surprised he didn't clean it up if he's really trying to sell it! Any idea how long he's been trying to sell it?
I'd check the keel area up front for trailer rash. Some guys skin up that area when trying to power load. Also check around the gunnel/rub rail for and hull sides for signs of dock walloping!

Erik,
Not sure where you're located but it must be the only boat in town. Unless the trailer is brand new, the guy is asking more than he'll get in this market. Cuddy looks pretty clean and mostly dry and floors look straight. Teak in cabin is weathered. That suggests water seeps in between the seam at the hull and gunwale cap. This is common and an easy weekend repair. But more importantly, a negotiating point. Scuppers probably leak, too. Again, common, and an easy fix. You need to get a closer look in daylight. Don't worry, it will still be there Saturday. Splashwell is a nice feature. They cost about $450 or so nowadays. Check for soft floors. Especially around the seat mounts - the starboard ain't there because he didn't have shorter screws... Scuppers look funky. Over-sized or do they have a plug in pics? Take your time and give it a run if you haven't already...great little boat - nimble yet stout. Unfortunately not a huge demand right now. Feel free to politely work him... Golly, I hope he's not a regular on this site... Good luck

run ! $5,995 for that ? it's got an older than dirt johnson on it - looks pretty rough... looking at the pictures : i see a hole of some sort in the deck ? i see a starboard plate - port side seat base ? using the battery wiring as a "guide",it looks pretty scary...trust me,it's a fire sale on boats right now,you can buy a much nicer product than that thing for $6,000...
