Default FL guys question about registration #'s

the painted registration numbers on one of my boats wore off when i polished it last time. i think they were in the wrong place. does anyone know if they need to be next to the sticker with the expiration date?

Im pretty sure they do, unless the boat is documented, which is not normal for a small boat
