Default bilge pump thru hull

i have one bilge pump discharging thru the upper part of the hull on the starboard side. is there any conventional wisdom regarding which side a second discharge should go thru?

I'm big into whichever side is easiest to run hoses, get to clamps, tighten backing nuts, etc. I do have my normal bilge pump out one side and my "emaercency" bilge out the other....if I see them both pumping at the same time, I could be in deep poop.

Normally they put them on the side where you can lean over and see if they are dis-charging.

On the 21 they are on the SB side since that is the side that I drive from. On a CC I don't think it makes any difference.

Don't think there is any common rule on which side.
I have three bilge pumps with two outlets on the stbd side and one on the port side.I can see if any water is coming out easily on the stbd side when I'm at the wheel.

I wire a light on the dash that comes on with the pump to let you know it's running saved us the night the plug came out and we were getting ready to anchor to fish!!!

TIP - go to Advance Auto and buy a little LED indicator light, little thing, drill a hole next to the switch and just stick the wires under the connectors and you know exactly when they come on. When running I don't look back often and have had a baitpump hose come off, a 1 1/2" seacock can fill a 20 up pretty damn quick.
