20sf with 200 mercury, 4 blade props?

bought a troughy plus 4 blade 13.75 x 19p and has three solid plugs and one small hole plug in the vents and it has exhaust ring installed for larger lower unit case, seems to slip to much out of the hole. anyone using one of these with diffrent or better results?

Where is your cavitation plate in relation to the bottom of your boat? Did you have a ventilation problem before swapping props? If so drop the motor one hole and retest. I had the PVS plugs with the small holes for most of the props I used (mirage plus 17P, 19P, rev 4 19P, Highfive 17p, 19P and tempest 19P) which did allow the prop to spin up easier. I suspect your motor height might be the issue.

the cav plate is even with the bottom, and the factory beatup looking aluminum prop runs great, i was looking to get even better holeshot than i have already. i dont care about losing any speed on top as i was told i would because the boat flies already faster than i would ever run it. and i wanted to get a SS prop. i thought it would be a huge improvment but it just seemed to start out ok then vent ( reving real high and no go) and i had to ease out of the gas then get back on it to get it on the pad. once it was up it seemed ok but not as good as before. could the one small hole vent cause this?

No . . . I don't think one hole would cause this. For $2 you can be 100% sure. Are you sure you have a large hub 4 3/4" prop? You might measure it to be sure. If you are running a small hub 4 1/4" Trophy Plus prop on a 4 3/4" lower unit that would explain your issue.

Try putting the aluminum prop and the trophy side by side and measure the hub. I'd be willing to bet you will see one is 4.75" and the trophy plus be 4.25".

i am running the smaller prop, the trophy plus only comes in one size im told and thats why i added the exhaust spacer ring to the prop, its glued to the front to take up the gap. i was told the original trophy props came in two sizes thats why im confused on the peformance, it should work but its not. i have done evrthing the mercury guy told me to but still no dice. guess i can try the 2 dooler deal and swap out that last plug, but like you said and so has everyone else probably wont make that big a diffrence.
