Default MY new 23' Sceptre with twin 165 hp straight six

Well I decided to buy this Sceptre due to the fact that my son has his 18SF. Powered by two Inline 6 -250cid Gm Engines. Here are some pics..engines run great as well as outdrives shift smooth. Tower is coming off and tower will be up for sale...I think.....crows nest folds down so might try to keep. Obviously needs some TLC but overall solid as a tank.
I know have to hide it up at area 442...oh Ken are you there...will give ya a call!!!!

Through networking with my friends...we all have the same jobs throughout the state of FL which allow us to scout for Seacrafts in rural areas...found about an hour away from my house!
Tower is ok but needs canvas ..dont know if I will ever use it though...might grow on me..plus my arse might get stuck up there!!!
Thanks
-Fred

Fred,
You're an animal! Glad you went for it. Is it a keeper or a flipper.
Hull looks good. Looks like original gelcoat and should cleanup real nice.
Good call on the top sounds like you already have interest in it. One of the great things about the Sceptre is the cockpit space. Now on to spending your money - I'd look for 350 combo and sell the twins. No problem selling those when running.

The Chevy 250 block is a reliable workhorse. Hot-rodders are still hopping them up to be Corvette killers. The fact the MerCruiser 165s are still working is a testament to the configuration. My 21 has one with the original 150 hp config and is still running. its a '65 or '66. The manifolds are Chimeras (they are intake and exhaust) and thus they are $550 to 700 to replace make sure they don't get clogged. Long flushes with Salt-away, baby.

Good luck with the new Sceptre!

Nice find! I actually like the top as it provides a lot of shade in FL.

Great use for the crows nest Nobones.
