Default 85 HP Johnson

I picked up a lappy project boat last month and finally had time
to clean the carbs and check the motor out that came with the boat.

It is a 1975 Johnson with a 20 inch shaft and no TNT....

After soaking the carbs and reinstalling, I checked the compression which comes in at 128lbs. on all four cyclinders... There was a a bad ground
on the number one coil of which I fixed as well..
Has 4 new plugs to boot.

Make a long story short this ole' girl runs like a top!!!

It could use a new impeller and a gear lube change to make it right..

It comes with the control box, cables, (not the best, but work)
SST prop, looks to be 13 X 19 not sure though....

I have this listed on CL for 500 clams!

Family price on CSC $300

It starts right up and runs great!
Currently mounted on a roll around stand for demo purposes.

I have had a couple of tire kicker calls...
Hey, it is what it is! Oldie but goodie..

Come and get it at Area 442..

I had that same engine on a 16 Checkmate that we had on my lake and we used it 300 days out of the year and must have put 3000 hrs on it before I traded it in for a 150 and I put another million hours on that one. All my childhood friends learned how to ski behind my house They even gave the lake a name ...skinny lake as my nick name was in spanish el flaco ( skinny to you anglos) Great engine !!!

We had a 1971 115hp (v-4) Evinrude on a 19' Cobia back in the day. I learned to handle a boat with that little ride. The V-4 OMCs were great engines.

GLWS, someone should snap it up at $300!

While that is a thought, I spread dialectric grease around the boat.
