Putting the carpet back would be the easiest and cheapest way to go and probably look the best. Sanding and fairing will take lots of time and more $$ just to make it look half way good.

Forgot about Rhino Liner. I put Linex in my 20sf and really like it. I would not be to worried about the weight. It's not really all that much and my Linex is 1/8 inch thick all the way around. One thing about the carpet is that it's easy and you can do it your self in a couple hours.

What is your e mail? I would go with needle punch carpet. I can have Shaw send you a sample.I can shoot pics of colors. Olefin fiber and shouldn`t mildew or mold. flexible and easy install w 3 m contact cement on both hull and carpet. Has good boaty colors too.

Happy Easter,

Yes they are, but boy, they sure are proud of the stuff.

Here is a link to the needle punch. Get the 3m contact cement spray bombs not the cheap stuff. Trust me on this. Soft Scape I and II are the Shaw products and this price is better than mine. If any want samples call me at work and I can have Shaw send samples for color selection. Don`t get the "marine" backing which is rubber and not friendly with gelcoat or paint. Get the unitary which bends easily and bonds well. It might also be a good choice for stabbin` cabins or floating botels.

After lunch is a good time to call.

Tanks for the replies all...
Strick, the rhino was generic term much like coke here... it will most likely be duraback or another home applied.. i have done this out here offshore to seal roofs on buildings that were leaking and unecinomical to repair.. the trick is the prep... wipe liberaly with xyxol..
Sandman, one of my close friends does appolstery and canvas about 6 houses down along with cabnitrey and any other thing you can make with your hands except mechanical repairs... he was steering me toward carpet at his cost... i will be picking up my starboard this week and he will be helping with the door replacement on the back of the console.. as well as the coushons for the bow.. and drop in bow deck extension for a bed / sun area under my dodger/tent arangement for camping in the fall and winter.. i have big dreams as my wife likes to tell me... lol
thanks again guys for the imput !!! i am very excited
