Main Hatch water proofing
Anyone ever figure out an easy way to make the floor hatch in a 23' Tsunami/Sceptre water proof or pretty damn near close to water proof ?
It's the rectangular hatch between the helm and the passenger seats... Mine was permanently sealed and used to have a fuel tank in there when she had twin i/o's, but after the conversion to (1) i/o, I removed the tank, put hinges on and SS locks/catches. It's a storage area - WET storage area... |

Thats what I have ! I actually have a big rubbermaid container that I slice the top 4" off with a grinder - does a quick, clean job - no cover. I use it to store my anchor and line ( always wet ) or any fish I catch.
I'd love to make it an insulated cooler for fish - but want it to be pretty well sealed 1st. In a perfect world, I'd cut the old box out of the floor - insulate all around it on the outside - reinstall with some sort of channel/gutter to direct water out of box. Use a macerator to pump out water, ice, slime 'n scales. |

I had to cut out my front deck storage bin found the clearance was to tight to put 1inch of foam around the out side of it . Made a slightly smaller mold adding a drain sump at the back like it but it was a lot of work
