Motor caddy idea
Just made this to carry a 250 four stroke while I change the lower unit and wait for another boat to come in to rehang it on. Works great if you have hard floors cause it rolls on casters! Ha ha ha!

I have something similar in my shop but cheated and used a bread cart base as the casters. The things they wheel the racks of loaves of bread into the stores with. 4 casters into plastic. Saved build time. I can use one cart if I drop the lower unit and stand it up on its mid section and strap it down. That way I can wait on the boat while I do the water pump and shaft seals. Then all I have to do is hook the hoist to it and lift once the next boat comes in. Great way to keep the lift free while I pull the second boats old motor.

I used to use the furniture mover dollie thingies you get from Home Depot. Two of em work fine to lay the motor on and roll it out of the way to store it but this will allow me to pull the lower no problem, is more secure and won't marr the paint on the motor. I likey.

I got a cool motor caddy from my grandfather that recently passed, it is a old military caddy that was used to assemble bombs for air craft. It swivels, rotates and is on wheels so it can roll around. Very heavy duty. I will get a few pic's of it.

The aluminum plate was added to make it into a boat motor stand. It original had a plate that mounted the bomb shell that they would load. The top plate will go 90* flat up to lay a motor from hanging down to straight out. the swivel joint will rotate 360* so you could tilt the motor side to side if wanted when tilted back horizontally.
