Hello everyone,
I am putting my 1972 20' Seacraft Seafari up for sale. Unforuntately I am not going to have time for it this summer, my father and I are going in on a big boat together. I would much rather someone use the seafari this summer than to let it sit on my mooring all summer long. I started to post some pictures of my progress, and with work I lost time to keep posting. This spring, I spent a few days buffing and compounding the entire hull out. A few coats of wax and it looks great and still has the original red gelcoat. Overall gelcoat is in good shape given the year, has one small scrape/ding on starboard bow where I think a dock was hit at some point. No major damage and can be used as is. There was a small crack on the port side gunnel that was cosmetic. I laid mat and resin after bracing it into place, and finished the top area with non-skid paint. Has original camper seat in good shape, has small crack that was glass at one point. Sink drain is hooked up, water pump is not. Stove is in place and was told it does work. I added a second battery, serviced the engine, bottom painted it, sealed all through hull fittings. Has a trailer cover, outboard mooring cover, and cushions for the cabin V-berth and for captains chairs. Has perko Outriggers that will go with it. Powered with a 2000 Yamaha F100, rebuilt in 2008 by Monahan's Marine. Low hours on it. I had it out this weekend, tops out at 36 MPH and ran awesome. Trailer is included. 1998 Continental aluminum single axle trailer in good shape. I really hate to sell but I am buying a big sportfishing hull with my father, which means I will have no time for this classic. Its moored in Little Pleasant Bay now (South Orleans, MA on Cape Cod) and can be taken for a sea trial. Boat is 100% turnkey and ready for the summer. Please call 1-617-997-1305. I am asking $6500 or best reasonable offer as I'd like to sell it to a fellow member who will really appreciate it. Just a quick update and bump back to the top.
I will be down the cape at the boat this whole weekend and am readily available for a sea trial from Friday to Monday. Bought a new hour meter and will be installing that this weekend as well. |

Thanks Shrimpin', its running beautifully this year.
That is pretty funny you mentioned the ding, I could not figure out what would have done that. Didn't look like a typical docking chip the way it is. Another update: Trailer is being rebuilt hopefully this week if not next. New hubs/springs/hardware/anything that was rusted. |

Another update for 21JUN16.
Installed a brand new Garmin ECHO 54DV fishfinder/GPS with DownVu sonar system (works awesome). Trailer got new springs, hardware, hubs, bearings, and some other hardware as well. Installed new rod rack on back of camper seat. Cushions needed a washings I stripped them from the foam and threw them in the washing machine. They came out great but the zippers are all ripped and hurting bad. Going to send them somewhere to get fixed soon hopefully. Yamaha got its carbs lynced and synced by yours truly, running smoother than ever now. Going to order fuel pumps and redo some of the fuel line to get rid of a slight hesitation problem going up on a plane (2400-2800 RPMs). Have put just under 40 hours on it already, been running fantastic and caught the first striper of the year on it this past Friday! |

So nice when boat stories are like they are supposed to be. Nice boat! Congratulations. |

Thanks cdavis, it is really nice when they actually work and your using them not working on them.
I wanted to let everyone know at this point and time, the Seacraft is actually off the market for a few reasons. 1. I have put a lot more work into and plan to do more so the asking price will be changed accordingly. 2. I initially put the boat up for sale when my father and I put an offer on a 28 Rampage and the owner backed out of the sale last minute. I had put the Seacraft up for sale since we thought it was a sure thing (offered him the asking price) but ended up not getting it. 3. I am enjoying it too damn much right now! Whenever I buy a sportfishing hull with my father, that will be the sad day that this has to go up for sale. I will keep posting with any updates I do to it to keep everything up to speed, and will post when it is officially back up for sale. I thank everyone that has had interest in it thus far, and I apologize for the run-around with selling it so far. I only want to sell it if I absolutely have too! |
