Does anyone know why the 1988 model does not have side vents?

I believe Tracker did away with the vents on 20/23

My '86 doesn't have side vents either

My '89 23 OB does not have vents.

No, its a 1999 Evinrude Ficht 225 Hp....trying to sell it if you know anyone interested.
