Default 23CC, Hermco bracket, interior pics?

My boat is going into my buddies glass shop this winter for a Hermco bracket and closed transom.
The hull is a 1979 CC, with the typical round splashwell around the engine.
I wanted to see what you guys have done for interior space.
Im not really concerned about adding a livewell in the center.
I would like to keep the transom open for cooler storage etc.
I was thinking of just closing the top off, leaving the corner hatches, and having a large recessed area under the closed top.
Not sure if that makes sense, but i can picture it.

TIA

I like the idea. Could even have a portable livewell that would fit under there. I like flexibility.
