Reuse scuppers
Hey how's everybody doing my question is,I was able to pull the original scuppers out of my 1980 seacraft it's a 20-foot overnighter, should I put in new brass covers or should I just reuse the original ones, they are in great shape and came out with no damage whatsoever. I am trying to post pics but I'm not able to, I will post them as soon as I figure it out.thanks

Go with new brass tubes, they are $5 ea. and you'll likely have trouble getting a good flare seal with the old brass. Damage may be all but invisible. Flaring tool is $20:

Google "Annealing" brass. Not the worst job. Buy extra length. I have a spare section, 30" one inch outside diameter brass tubing from my Whaler refurbs. Probably enough to split with another member, I think Jorge in Miami may be doing similar project

beastly's overnighter in below link shows scuppers but I can't really tell if they are plastic from the picture. I don't know if original or not. http://www.classicseacraft.com/commu...ht=overnighter

Yeah I think somebody replaced them because I found the same part that was in there, they used plastic splash well drain tubes.i did use them, also there was no rotted wood in there, all solid.is it OK to use them??Haven't tried the boat yet.but it was a nice tight fit.used 5200 fast cure.
