Default Reuse scuppers

Hey how's everybody doing my question is,I was able to pull the original scuppers out of my 1980 seacraft it's a 20-foot overnighter, should I put in new brass covers or should I just reuse the original ones, they are in great shape and came out with no damage whatsoever. I am trying to post pics but I'm not able to, I will post them as soon as I figure it out.thanks

Go with new brass tubes, they are $5 ea. and you'll likely have trouble getting a good flare seal with the old brass. Damage may be all but invisible. Flaring tool is $20:

You'll likely need a longer bolt.

I used 3M 4200 for sealing figuring some flex would reduce possibility cracking and separation with weather changes,

Google "Annealing" brass. Not the worst job. Buy extra length. I have a spare section, 30" one inch outside diameter brass tubing from my Whaler refurbs. Probably enough to split with another member, I think Jorge in Miami may be doing similar project

Pretty sure everything from the '70s and early '80s, had brass tubes. Maybe it changed. Many guys have replaced brass w plastic, fiberglass or pvc. Post some pics of yours if you can. Not sure about the overnighter. I've never seen one in person. In other models w/ thru-hull scuppers, the problem became rot in the wooden supporting blocks as much as the tubing.

beastly's overnighter in below link shows scuppers but I can't really tell if they are plastic from the picture. I don't know if original or not.

Yeah I think somebody replaced them because I found the same part that was in there, they used plastic splash well drain tubes.i did use them, also there was no rotted wood in there, all solid.is it OK to use them??Haven't tried the boat yet.but it was a nice tight fit.used 5200 fast cure.
