Was just talking to a few other members over the last week about
doing a scallop gathering at MacRae's....
Also in favor of moving up the big bend as well !

We need to do it NOW to block rooms in time for Sept.

It is up to you guys on that side of the state...
We have been slackin' on this side...

Lets do it !

We just need to beat the "rainy season" - if thats possible. I tried Steinhatchee last year and the visibility was maybe 12" after all the rain run-off. Not the best pickin conditions.

I know my area is far for most of you, but last season people including my family got their limit in 30 minutes. If you guys decide to come here I got some great scalloping locations.

OK here we go......

If we want to try scalloping from Homosassa Springs using MacRaes as a "base of operations" they have enough rooms available where we could block off ten rooms, plus the Gator Den, the weekend of September 22nd., which looks to be the last weekend of scallop season (see post #2 above). Nothing available of that quantity of rooms before then. I think we did the last weekend of scallop season last year from Hernando Beach.

Looks like one of those "ya snooze, ya lose" things where a firm decision has to be made quickly, unless we want to go after the season like we did a couple of years ago in November if I remember correctly.

Comments? Thoughts.

Oh yeah, a standard room is $111 per night (11% tax included).

10-4, We're (me, Ms. Marsha and Round Boy) good to go if that is the "locked in" date. I'll grab the Gator Den if need so we have the extra room for the DON V's Hushpuppy PAR-TY where we always play Grinderswitch real loud!

All right, so far it looks like three rooms.

If we continue to get interest for those dates and location I'll get with MacRae's and see what their requirements are for me to hold at least ten rooms, plus the Marshtackie Gator Den of Sin, on my credit card. I'll get back tomorrow with that info.

If this works out, I'm hoping another evening at "The Freezer" will still be done! For some of us it's an easy place to find.
