Default Hunt yachts 23 ft deep v

Hi, not a seacraft question, but wondering if anyone knows the history of these boats? With such a wealth of knowledge on this board I figured someone would know of this hull, thanks in advance, Gerry

Hi Gerry - Are you referring to 23 from 1957/58?

If so you might enjoy this presentation from Winn Willard. Deep V talk starts around 50 minute mark.

There's some information in this article too

HiLiner might also work for you. The 22’ Gypsies are almost as cool as a Seafari ?

somewhere I have a large image of this boat.

here's the blurb that goes along with the image.

The 23′ (7m) Hunter was purportedly the first fiberglass boat built to Ray Hunt’s groundbreaking deep-V hullform. It was one of four built in 1957–58 by The Anchorage, a Warren, Rhode Island, yard owned by Bill Dyer.

That's quite a hull and rare. Is anyone running one of these? Kind of reminds me of the 25 Seacraft extreme deadrise.

scepter23, Please share some pics. Would love to see close ups and interior build pics. That's an early example of the deep v breed.

Those aren't spray rails, they are reverse chines, tricky to mold. Unique to early Hunt hulls.
