Look under specification on home page. Says 400 hp max.

Hey Michael, I'm with ya on the 400 hp, however I'm thinking that's for a Potter hull. Not too sure of a '99 23'ers rating, however that 400 hp is what I would show the insurance guys!!

Correct those are old numbers. The other way to do it is decided how much HP you want and have a new spec plate made. I would never advocate going above original specs unless--

Hopefully you can read this pic of a 1997 brochure with the 23 specs for that year. As you can see it doesn't actually say maximum hp anywhere. All the newer brochures from around 2003 and on all say max of 300 hp. As far as I know all the later model 23's were all rated for 300 HP .

Still have the 21'. I have decided to keep it. Been a busy year and have had very little time to use it so at this point I am glad I didn't find a 25. Lol.

I have a 99 23cc and the rating plate is 300 hp. It had twin Merc 150's from the factory on it when I got it, but it likes the single 300 4.2 liter Yamaha better.
