Default 19 sternrider

Came across this beaut last weekend. Its a 67, number 356. Pics dont do justice to how bad of shape the liner and cap and everything is in, if she was in better shape in that regard i wouldnt be gutting her...... But were going down to hullskin and stringers.

Plan is raise stringers quite a bit, shove fuel forward, big in deck livewell behind fuel, decent sized front and rear decks connected with walkaround gunnels, full rear bulkhead and partial front, and a small side console with a grabrail and some instruments.

Power will be an inline 3 G2... with a tiller (hence sternrider)

If anyone wants anything off her besides the teak anchor locker door lemme know! Merc is a 2.5 200, feels good on a hand spin. Leg spins nicely.

Adventurous extraction:

I didnt catch her name but she liked it!

Oh man, please photo-document this build in your usual excruciating detail.
I love following along to your work.

(mostly because I'm jealous of your mad skillz...)

Nice find dirt, I too am looking forward with excitement on this new project of yours. I think those Moesly bowriders are worthy of more respect with the 4 stringer set up and the holy grail VDR.

I went to look at 'her sister' in West Hills and left her there.

I was not familiar with the bowrider and did a few hours of research before making the 5 hour trip. I was thinking it would be a great bay boat and near shore fisherman. Or raise the floor etc. Unfortunately, or not, the trailer was not road worthy and the hull bottom would likely need a flip over to make it right. The eye for the winch is also loose. It is sitting on the trailer wrong too likely because it was pushed up to drain. It was too much for me and left a little sad and hopeful that someone will restore it.

Will do Zach!

I saw that one in cali on a web search... !PAGING STRICK!

Mines definitely gonna have to be flipped, port side has some pretty good step damage and a weird hook going on. Shes coming apart easy though. Any spot with a core is non existent, liners cracked all over, rivets barely hanging on etc.

Totally agree on the 4 stringer boats. They just seem better built. Lots of stuff tabbed together on this one. I think theyre better for rebuilding as far as layout and rigging go too. This 19 has a bit more width between the 2 inside stringers than the 20 also so that gives a lil more freedom with premade tank selection.

Well with the combo of the stringers going in on a monday or friday, and some shoddy repair work, the whole grid is coming out.

At some point someone had her apart and tried to fix some things, during which they used a jigsaw and sliced the stringers in a bunch of spots. They managed to slop a bunch of heavy roving in along with screwing and bedding the deck back down with some caulk on top of the original "moesly putty". Owner said he "hit a submerged object"...

The original tabbing is broken and loose in lots of spots, and most wasnt wet out very well.

Termites made the rest of demo ezpz. The best wood i found was right near the drain plug, saltwater preservation maybe ??

Mucho tierra to play with!

"Repair" from the inside...

You can see a couple jigsaw cuts here, others are almost full depth.

Gotta love fixing other peoples shit!

Stringer height will be about doubled anyway, not a biggie to do all new. Wasnt expecting it to look much better under there...

Default Moesly 19

Dirt, I think the chines on the 19s are a little softer on the edges than the 20s. You might think about spray rails, especially with a side console. Speaking from experience

For sure, the 20s have a tiny bit of reverse in the chine. Im either gonna glass some rails on or build up a downturn in the chine, or a combo of both. Love that rig of yours by the way...
