Cool Forward folding "hinged" console

I have seen several photos of a forward folding ("hinged") console/top on the straight inboards. I am looking to do something similar on my 72'. Has anyone done this and willing to share how it is anchored? excuse my ignorance if a thread already exists on this topic. THANKS!

I have a 3" lip around my entire engine on the deck. The doghouse sits flush, outside of it and have 2, 6" or 8" stainless hinges connecting the front of the doghouse to the deck. I have the ability to fold the doghouse all the way down (it's super heavy and need 2 people) to have full access, but also installed electric hatch lifters, that allows me to lift the hatch up 20" forward, so I can check oil, etc without having to lift it all the way down.

@ TDL the 3" lip sounds very similar to mine. I also plan on using 8" friction hinges. How is your doghouse secured in the back? I was thinking about using an aluminum bracket with 5-6 bolts on each side to either side to secure the console. Interested in keeping it secure with minimal hardware to undo before fold the console forward. THANKS!

Before the electronic hatch lifters were installed, a piece of 4” x3” starboard on the lip around the engine on the back left/right hand corners of the doghouse where I had one bolt and wing nut through the lip.

With the hatch lifters, I don’t have the back secured down anymore
