Re: cap/hull separation

Thanks for the response.
The transom was rebuilt a few years ago and is solid as a rock. As the old transom was removed, i inspected the stringers and did not notice any issues- no rotted...

cap/hull separation

Fellow Seacraft aficionados,

Well it appears that I am having separation between my hull and cap about halfway down the starboard side once again (after having this re-riveted about 2 years ago)....

Re: My 1971 20' Seacraft project

That's coming along very nice - a real no nonsense fishing machine.

And thanks for posting those numbers! What else do you think of the F115? Hole shot, fuel usage, weight etc. ?

Re: 1970 20' SF

Very, very nice!
As someone previously mentioned - like a time capsule with all the originals.

I can attest that those Mahogany plywood hatches really withstand the test of time.

From your...

Re: Awlcraft 2000 touch up

I'm in the same "boat" fishhunt, having Awlgrip topsides with some nicks and scratches from a few years of abuse.

Any expert opinions on touching it up?

For as durable a finish as awlgrip is,...

Re: Plans for my recovered boat

Since raising the transom from 20" to 25", keeping water out of the boat has no longer been a concern.

Re: fishing in flamingo

Blue,

I'll PM some fishing ideas. Over the years, i've camped at most of the backcountry sites around Flamingo so I'd be happy to offer any advice - let me know.

We may even be down there the...

Re: fishing in flamingo

How was the camping trip Blue?

I get my Seacraft to Flamingo once in a while and am always amazed at how skinny I can get it. It just goes to show you how versitile the 20 is.

Re: 1975 SeaCraft CC , 18' ..Transom height change ??

Hey Striker,

Several of us during rebuilds have raised the original transom from 20" to 25" and from my personal experience I highly recommend doing it.

A 25" transom would ordinarily hold a...

Also inside starboard hatch but under the splashwell, through-bolted to cockpit wall - no complaints.

I recommend the filter w/ clear bowl

Sleeping on a 20 SF

Once in a while I am jealous of you Seafari owners and was just wondering if anyone has ever setup a 20 SF for overnighting. Perhaps, fabricating a collapsable extension for the forward deck.

Re: SC20

I would consider that range ideal for the SC20. If you like to scream and fly than a 6 cyl 150 HP and up would probably be preferred. I am very content with a 2S 130 HP which I feel has a nice...

Re: transom rebuild

Looks good youngone. Are you re-using the old outer transom skin or building new?

30+ year old transoms provide fantastic mulch don't they? :D
