Re: next project.
Being a Whaler nut...that hull is quite fixable but you will want a cheaper "backyard" type guy because any yard will cost a fortune. For $500 I would have bought it...would have bought 10 of them...

Re: Anclote Key Gathering 04/28/2007
I have a Whaler banner
Update: Baja has been sold for about 2 years now. All I can do is maybe 40mph in my 1976 19 Revenge(115 Suzuki 4S) on a good day. I actually might bring up my 13' if...

I actually was organizing a Whaler rendezvous for the Anclote or Cotee river in April so guess what....you might be bombarded with a bunch of...

Re: 250 Suzuki four Stroke
Interesting point is Briguy's 23cc with twin 115 Suzis runs about identical to Trevor's 250 at all ranges and I am estimating about the same cost to rig. Tough decision.

Re: Mercury Verado 250
I thought Merc was not selling those to the public in the form of repowers until 2005? Was told by the Merc rep at my Whaler rendezvous that until the mechanics are all trained to mount them &...

Re: Tampa Seacraft Gathering
Me and Briguy try this a couple times a year in conjunction with Boston Whaler people. We get 1 SeaCraft about every other year and about 20 Whalers per rendezvous. We would REALLY like to see you...

Re: "THE VORTEX"
Brian....you aint married!
Will the vortex work on Whalers? I have yet to own a SeaCraft but I like the idea of no water in the boat....although mine won't sink if it does come in. ...

Re: Tampa bay rendezvous....AGAIN!
Well....it was not a success, the weather was though. I got there late and Tarpon Tom was already moored up. I tried to beach the boat but the current and waves were too much. So then I tried to...

Re: 4Stroke Question
Well....a 2-thirsty-5 OMC weighed about 375lbs back in the 80's. My 1994 OMC 225 weighs 455. A ficht 225 weighs like 520 and the Yamaha 225 weighs 580 or so. Outboards have become just like the US...

Re: S/S props vs. Aluminum
I won't run anything but SS props but if I lived in area that was rock infested I would probably get something else. Chances are though that if you hit something hard enough to bend a prop shaft, the...

Re: twin outboards on a 20cc
Depending on the use, twin 60 Merc 4 strokes are the lightest but 120hp may not be sufficient. Twin 90 Yamaha 2 strokes at 260lbs each would be a great choice like said above. With a flotation...

Re: Ft. Layderdale/Pompano owners
I saw a newer 18 or 20(18' I believe) with a dark blue hull and a v6 merc with I believe blue decals. If I remember correctly it was say from Shooters North on the ICW. I remember saying to my wife,...

Ft. Layderdale/Pompano owners
Was over in your neck of the woods friday and saturday in my Boston Whaler Newport. I saw a ton of Whalers and a ton of SeaCrafts as well. Most were older Potter hulls and a few new ones. Saw a sweet...

Re: outboard engine weights
My 1994 225 weighs 455lbs, the 150-175 is under 400lbs. Last year a dealer by me had 2 1999 Johnson 175's BRAND NEW for $4000 each. They also had 115 Fichts for $3500. Too bad they were 25" or my 17'...

Re: Best Engine Size
Why not consider the 135 DI? I hear they are about the same HP as the 150's. Being a dealer I would drop a 200 on there and a flotation bracket and get that thing haulin ass. But then again a 150 on...

Re: Yamaha 225 4 stroke v's Bombardier Ficth 250.
Man back in 1994 you got 1 year...from everyone but Suzuki I believe. If you made the 1 year you were pretty much golden for the next 1000 hours+ Today everyone wants warranty. The rudes are the best...

Re: Who makes a better outboard?
That 250 Merc is a good engine but one thirsty SOB. How much Exxon stock do you own? I would get the Ficht because I have heard from every mechanic, every magazine, every website that they are...
