After closer inspection of said boat I happen to see the rivets that attach the inner to the outer up under the decking where the rub rail attaches, my conclusion is that we aren't talking "Rocket...

Having worked in and around (art) foundries I know you can buy mold release from a foundry supply company, so just "Google" foundry supplies or mold release.
