Re: My bracket project

Like the other good advice, you should get 1.5" of flotation with the bracket. The lower you mount it, the more of it will be in the water giving buoyancy - but you may run our of holes to be able...

Re: transom (Mako)

Back out one of the engine mounting bolts (I assume the engine is still mounted up) and 1) smell the material that comes with it and 2) check for moisture. IF your water impregnation is isolated to...

Re: American International / North American 22 and 26

Re: best rod holders?

Re: RUB RAIL REPLACEMENT

I chose the telescoping TACO's as well. Believe me, they are built well. I leave them extended on my t-top mounts (their grandslam adjustable) and after 1 year (410 hours) of really hard pounding,...

Re: RUB RAIL REPLACEMENT

Fellow-ship. Yeah, I did one the "hard" way once, made a huge mess and it didn't come out perfect like the factory guys do it.

I used the TACO rail the last couple of projects, I went direct to...

Re: RUB RAIL REPLACEMENT

A tip for installing a new rub rail I learned from one of the pros. 1) do it on a very hot day and leave the rub rail in the sun for a long time before getting to it. 2) lay the rub rail out on the...

Re: Crack in the keel.

I would not advise repairing the damage you described with 1 - 1/2 oz mat. If you have compromised the laminate (cracked the hull) you need to re-build with at least an equal strength repair. Grind...

Re: Put her on the trailer

Trayder, you must keep dreaming about running WOT through an early morning slick calm sea, blasting down past Fort Adams on the way to catching some fish....it will help take away the pain of...

Re: livewell question

Just my preference, but I like the in-floor livewell set up a) lower center of gravity b) doesn't take up cockpit area. It is harder to snag bait though compared to a transom or leaning post setup.

Re: Fresh water tank

My advice would be to put the water tank as far forward (under the floor) as possible. NEar the anchor locker if possible. That way it can be used as a "trim" tank and help out on weight...

STeve; for a project like you are considering, get the #1 priority straight: DOES IT HAVE A TITLE? As all have properly noted, one can do anything with glass - how do you think they make the plug /...
