Don't forget the cone angle issue. If you are fishing offshore it is not an issue but if you are fishing in waters say 40' or less, think twice about the Furuno.

I think Toadfish solved it-mine is 48 also. I did not want to run it dry due to the age of the boat-God only knows what is in the bottom of the tank, but I'm pretty sure it is not pleasant!...

GPH numbers on 18' w/ 115

Just got the NAVMAN F41 installed and took her out to make sure it worked. Here's what I found out:

4200 RPM is 6.5 GPH at an even 27 knots [HOH temp 46.5]

4500 RPM is 7.6 GPH at 30 knots

The bow eye ring is shot. Lucky the boat did not come off thge trailer. Looks like 3/4" of thread out of hull on the bottom.

There's no access to the ring from the inside. Was thinking of Dremel...

bluefin tuna update

Trip got pushed back due to weather. Firm for Feb.13-18 out of Moorehead City. Fishing has been pretty strong down there, lots of good 300+ fish caught recently in 30-60 feet of HOH.

Yep- I am only trying to get oxidation, etc out of the hull. No plans to repaint.

On the deck, building up from underneath is not an option. This is basically a play around boat...

Yep-

Gotta 78 model 18' cc with a 115 Yamaslammer saltwater series.

4200 rpm is about 35 knots and wot is about 42. These will drop a little in the summer as the water temp here is about 45...

Hey guys, what's the best way to clean a long neglected hull? Simple compound and wax? Are there products out there that work better than others? I gotta' guy with a buffing machine in his hands...
