I have a Honda 225 on my 89 23WA and that is plenty for me, cruises here in the Puget Sound just fine 28-30 MPH on my GPS. Too much junk in the water to go faster, especially during crab season.

transom

My 1989 23WA was made for twins, but when I bought it new, we had to go to a 30" leg on the outboard. Original was a Merc 200, now have a 225 Honda which works great.

My 1989 23WA Seacraft had a 115 tank and it was foamed in at that time. I developed a leak in the rear bottom portion which was not foamed in. I replaced the tank with a 75 gallon tank. It is foamed...

Power Tech makes a 4 blade stern lifting prop. That might help you out. I had problems with porpoising when I had a 225 Honda put on my 1989 23 WA. Put the 4 blade on raised the motor about 2 holes...

It will do just fine. My 1989 Had a Mercury 200 hp carbed engine and I had plenty of power, although they have like gas, maybe 2 miles per gallon.

It is probably fuel related. Run a real heavy dose of SeaFoam in the gas. Maybe even do a decarb with SeaFoam. New plugs for sure. My old Merc200 took surface gap plugs. You should not be getting...

Talking Seacraft 23WA

I have a Honda 225 hp on my 23WA and the last time I had it checked by the Honda dealer here, he said that Honda told him I wasn't running the motor hard enough at top RPM. He says since I am still...

Re: 1989 SEA CRAFT 23 SCEPTRE

Re: Kicker hp for 23

I use a Yamaha T9.9 on my 23WA w/225 Honda for main power. I used to run a mid 90's 15HP Honda and that worked good. The T9.9 Yamaha has lots of torque, but not quite the top end that the Honda had....

Re: Legit 23 outboard option... New Honda.

I doubt if they did much, if anything to get to 250 hp as my 225 is definitely more than a 225 hp engine the way it scoots along. I was up to 5600 rpm (still had a little more to go) and 46 mph on my...

Re: SeaCraft another No Show

Re: Fuel tank replacement

Good luck. I put a new tank in last year. It is labor intense. This is one of those situations where you expect to pay a lot of labor for someone else to do the job. If you measured the holes, you...

Re: Fuel line blockage/obstruction

I think you are picking up junk in your fuel pick up in the tank. That was exactly the same way mine was acting/running last year or so and I ended up replacing the tank. I could not believe all the...

Re: Fuel tank

When I did my tank on my 1889 23WA, I found that the tank was free of the foam and the screws on 3 our of 4 places were free of the stringers. That made it easy to get the tank out, (other than...

Re: fuel tank

I removed the fuel sending unit and was able to get a hook on a piece of metal turned sideways and used a come-along from a rafter in my pole barn, worked great for me.

Re: NORTHSTAR F310 Fuel Monitor.

I use the same thing. Takes a little bit of use to know how to make it respond properly. Very accurate.

Re: fuel tank

That is a major project. I went through it last year. It is almost impossible to get the tank out in one piece. I have a 1989 23 WA and it has 2 deck places. Both have to come out. If yours is like...

Re: Coast Guard boarding & hull number question?

I am glad they do that kind of stuff down there, up here in the San Juan Islands they very seldom come aboard, most ask for life vest and ask if we have and fish, why fish I don't know because they...
