Re: Suzuki DF140

I paid $9,500 total in May of '02 in South Florida, including sales tax, S/S prop, gauges, controls, completely rigged & installed on my 18 footer. Motor has never missed a beat, sips gas, quiet as a...

Re: Are these inherent problems 18' footer

I too have a '76 eighteen, and yeah, drainage is pretty much the only gripe. Mine is the LOW cut (20') transom, and I have a Suzuki 140 that weighs in around 410 lbs., so I'm only sporting a few...

Re: fuel capacity on 18?

Tom,

When I first got my boat I yanked the console and tank access cover off so I could inspect the tank itself. At that point it was quite easy to get the measurements. I also pulled the fuel...

Re: fuel capacity on 18?

I couldn't find a label on my tank, so I calculated the cubic inches, and used a formula I found on the internet to determine gallons. The tank in my 18 worked out to just about 50 gallons.

Re: HP on a 20ft CC

Hey CaptLloyd,

I'm happy with the hole shot, using a s/s 14x20 wheel. When I ran an 18x20 the hole shot was outrageous/awesome, but WOT pulled too many revs (and top end suffered). Suggest you...

Re: HP on a 20ft CC

I've run a Suzuki DF140 on my 18 footer for almost a year (100+ hours, Florida and Virgin Islands), and the son of a gun has yet to hiccup ONCE. Runs like a scalded dog, sips fuel (just under 5...

Re: 115 ON A 18' SEACRAFT

Fisher,

I've been running a 140 Suzuki four stroke on my 18 for over six months, and it is really sweet. A little over 400 pounds, just under 45mph wot in flat water, absolutely a miser on fuel,...

Re: 2000 18' for $7500?

I'd guess it's an older hull restored in 2000...might still be an okay deal.

"Dream" Power for a 23?

Guys,

I’ve stumbled on a pretty clean 23’ Savage without power. I love my 18, but this darn boat has me losing sleep! I know we all have our own cherished beliefs on engine design, configuration...

I use the baitwell for storage...fender, second anchor and line, snorkle gear, etc. I installed a 5" round plastic screw-in access plate in the stern side of the well. With the cover off any water...

Re: 23' Savage Inboard

I came across an inboard Savage over the weekend here in St. Thomas...but it's darn near a basket case, major, major restoration project. Interesting going over the boat though...I like the layout!...

Re: 115 HP motor on a 20' ?

Hey Machetero,

I was seriously leaning towards putting a 115 Yamaha four stroke on my 18, but there weren't any available locally when I was ready, and I wound up with the Suzuki 140 four stroke....

Re: What does the "SF" stand for on a '73 20ft?

"SuperFisherman," as applied to a few of the center console models. In the 20, different than the "Master Angler." Check the Specifications section of this site for more info.

Re: leaning post

I put a Birdsall mini rocket launcher on my 18. Luckily I was able to order it through a friend/dealer, so I got 15% off list. Their stuff is truly yacht quality, and the shop is a fun place to drop...

Don't forget sales tax too! They might forego paying the governor if it's shipped out of state, but you'll have to pay shipping and insurance. BTW, I got my DF140 for just over $9,500 including tax,...
