Hi Don,
I installed a fixed height jack and it seemed to work great for 10 years. I just found out that I should have raised the motor since it has about 5" set back. So make sure that you take that into consideration when mounting it. I have had to trim way up to improve performance and keep water from spraying in the boat. See my thread on raise it an inch.
