I put a new Teleflex universal sending unit in today. I think I cut it too short but it is working for now.
When i get back from my fishing trip, I will hunt down something a little more exact. Universal fit is bs in my book. Pray to the tuna gods for me. -Ed- |

Ed ... there are a couple of "non moving part" sending units that use pressure to measure tank volume .... and there is another that uses a magnetic field ..... as long as you have unobstructed access to the tank ... saw it at one of the boat shows .... looks real good but its not cheap
Good luck on the trip and have a safe one !!!!! Catch lots and catch often!!!! |

Just make sure it is properly grounded. Measure
the old units length and cut the new one the same. Don't reverse the float swith: I did. Kept reading empty until I reversed it. |

Sorry. That should read switch and not swith.

Ed,
My experience with sending units is to match the hatch. Use a vdo sending unit with a vdo gauge, or stewart warner or tempo. I had the same problem on my 24 mako. I really sucked when the low fuel light would come on 60 miles offshore. It was that damn tempo universal sending unit. JW |
