I have considered doing this to my 21 and was planning on making it a one piece design. I was going to make a channel on each side out of starboard so that you could slide the door in the channel. Of course if you tilt the engine up you would have to pull it out. I got this idea from the Seacraft rep that I talked to at a show. I was inquiring what a factory one would cost and found out it was almost $400. I will make one before I pay that much for it.

Here is one of the Other Things I've got to finish one Day. I was planning on using the take apart hinges(2nd photo)because of the quickness.The other hinge would also work,put a quick release pin instead of cotter pin. Piano hinge in the middle.Used a white polycarbonate material clean looks good.I cut the top section to fold toward the engine,Don't Make THAT MISDTAKE !! have it fold inward & snap/velcro to the bottom.I have to get another piece of it for the screw up.
simple to remove
