Strength of pop-up cleats??????
Looking for input on accon 6" pop up cleats, I am going to use them on the bow and spring cleats, but curious if its a good idea to use them on the stearn , just in case I might need to tow someone, What do you think? |

Re: Strength of pop-up cleats??????
IMO, for towing you should use tow rings on the transom. The force of pulling another boat may be too much for the pop-up cleat to handle. Accon puts out a good product, perhaps the best out there. I'll be putting them on my boat very soon.

I used to work for one of Those "TOW" companies(before Towboat/Seatow) came around.Ive had a Tow bit Yanked right off the Deck, Use the Rings on the stearn/or on the bow for towing Never Bits,or Nylon rope !!When it parts it'll cut Ya in Half ,Or You'd wish it would have.Poly pro.strong, visible & No Memory.
We have very little tide change down here,Buttttt My center 4" pull up held my 20' at a nice list one day.pretty strong ! Scream'n Reels'
