Another option. For under 500 bucks includes a 30 gallon livewell, 4 rocket launchers, 3 access doors, washdown pump attachment, seats 3 and lots of storage inside.

Re: Leaning post
Okay, 38 inches seems to be a good width but what about the height? Anyone have any idea what height the leaning post should be for my 23 footer?
Thx, mm

That post they are talking about above is OEM on today’s 23 SeaCrafts So I would be inclined to think it’s at a good height. 32 or 33 inches sounds familiar Boat shows are great places to get a good sense for all the different leaning posts. Some of them are manufactured too low for me. Not about height but case in point a few years back we looked at a Silverhawk, two of them. One an I/O the other an outboard. They had identical posts on them. However sitting on the outboard leaning post felt different ... more comfortable. The salesman hadn't a clue as to why ... I found out from the fabricator of the post that they changed the angle on the backrest on the I/O to get the angle of the rocket launcher mounted across the back to point more to vertical. They did that because there was an engine box right behind the post and it was difficult to walk behind the post with the rods in the holders. |

I think you need to place the height of the seating area depending on the height of your console. (visual) Next the length of your legs also comes into the picture.(balance and comfort) The padding must be against your backside, not so high it hits the small of the back or not to low it hits against the thighs while standing behind the wheel. Consider rough water and being in a sitting position for a long run. These measurements were crutial in my height decision process because I make the 4 hour runs to the islands

Re: Leaning post
I had a very nice leaning post built by that goofy Pipe Dreams guy that runs around here. Removeable backrest, 4 rod holders, storage bin, etc.
I'll try to get some pics of it for you this weekend. http://www.pipedreamsmarine.com
