Steve just saw the reply aparantly wildfire is the place to take seacrafts. I should have taken mine to a shop for the rebuild but im a little short of funds right now. I need to sell a lot my wife and i bought to build our house on. Bought a house in orange beach instead of liveing 45 min inland. that would have sucked. I like drive 4 min. to the gulf instead.

Rusty, I believe that Wildfire is the best place to take our boats to. So far I'm very happy with what Mike has done. I have heard of a couple of other shops that were also very reputable, however they are very far from us.

10-4 on the shortness of funds , I know where you are coming from. My wife and I are working on building a house at this time. We are building about 25 min from the boat ramp. This really sucks!! However I'm only doing it for my children. I want to get them in a good school district.

IT IS AMAZING HOW PROPERTY VALUE EQATES TO SCHOOLS. We lived in a A district in florida and the only district i would have moved to in al just happend to be one of the top in south al. Every teacher at the middle school my oldest goes to has a laptop on their desk and all have school web address's. My youngest's elementery school is building sun,sea and stars. Its a multimillion dollar aquarium, planitarium and mini ecosystem.

I just got goose bumps! Building our dream home too.
It has been over a year since we broke ground. Hang in there
with the whole process. I acted as my own contractor, only because my dear old 80 year old Dad is still a licenced Florida contractor. Saved a ton of money for what we are building. Plus my beloved SeaCraft's and 3 other boats are
getting a new home to.

digreg, I wanted to use the SeaVette a couple of years. As you probably know the SeaVette is being repaired at this time. I don't really want to sell it, but you know what they say, " Every thing is for sale just not always on sale"

Well the Sceptre is gone. They say that the two happiest times in life is when you buy a boat and then when you sell it, well the person that made that saying up must of not owned a SeaCraft, because I'm not happy at all. As a matter of fact it was almost like getting rid of one of my kids. However I do feel like the guy that bought it will take very good care of it. I was keeping the boat right around the corner from where I'm living and every time I would go home I would always pass by the boat to check up on it. Well that has become such a habit that I just passed by where the boat was and it caught me off guard. I first thought OH $hit where is the boat? Even though I still have the SeaVette, I'm really going to miss the Sceptre. I've had a lot of good times on that boat. It has never let me down. Any other time I would of just kept both boats, but with us building a house that wasn't really doable.
