For those of you that have done it before, are there any caveats or recommendations you could make concerning the procedure? I'm not standing in front of mine right now, but I don't remember it having any channels. I know the later Potter's had a different deck design from the earlier ones. Mine has the raised floor under the console so that the console screws are horizontal rather than vertical and the fuel tank is is in the console, so no fuel hatch. How did you go about making the rim that the hatch sits on? I assume the material is not thick enough to simply rout out the lip, but I don't know.
