A bit more progress. The console is taking a while, but it is ready for paint, except for where it will be glassed to the floor.
![]() Holes are prepared for the motor controls as well as for electronics in the roll up dash. The channel locks will be replaced by an electric actuator to hold up the dash. ![]() ![]() The hole below the top is for my bank of storage drawers. They are mounted in a box that can be completely removed if necessary. ![]() ![]() Some of my switches will be in a plate mounted under the end of the steering pod. ![]() Battery switch is trial fit into the mounting plate. ![]() Finally, the hull is about ready to paint. The plan is to paint below the spray rail first, place it on the trailer, and move it to an inside location to paint the rest. ![]() Happy New Year! |

My friend, you and your shop are doing an outstanding (repeat "outstanding") job on this project. Absolutely no corners have been cut. You're using the best materials and taking the time to do it to perfection. Usually you only see this type of work in high end custom shops that cater to the one-off crowd that doesn't ask about the cost. Some really good ideas in this thread - it ought to be required reading for anyone contemplating a small CC rebuild.
I assume the console pod and teak cap trim will be "brightwork" finished. Awesome! |

something tells me that these guys have seen a gallon (or thousand) of epoxy before......cool to see what experienced craftsmen and some imagination can do. Mr. Ikan, good thing its not a 20' ("....get measured against"). More boat porn!
