Default Re: New Projects

I do have some questions though, how do you: restore teak,

Teak: The last time I did it I sanded (thoroughly) and applied 3 coats of Sikkens Cetol. It lasted about 2 years in southern SC sun.

clean/polish fiber glass,Meguires and others have complete systems for this. Bring on the elbow grease

and what do you use to clean stainless? A phosophoric acid solution (Mary Kate on/off) will remove the rusty looking stains left from SS. The metal itself if not too bad can be brought back with a mild abrasive made for fiberglass...Meguires restore and wax or similar. Again, bring on the elbow grease.

Lastly is it possible to save a console window that has crystalized? replace it.

We will also be having this icom m504 radio installed, Excellent radio. I have it also. Wire it to your GPS for DSC and emergency signaling.

Post some pics!! Good luck!!
