Default Re: Sell engines as is or fix em and sell em?

luck,

Sounds good. How are you planning to use the boat? Is this your only sled?

I have been searching around for my repower, and considering how many boat dealerships and manufacturers have gone under, there really aren't as many good deals as I would have expected. Prices seem to be holding, there is just a lot less turn over and purchases being made. I have heard of some sweetheart deals (like shrimp's boat! great price considering the skill level of the previous owner) because that is what it takes to make a sale, but otherwise it feels like a mexican (or Swedish or whatever) standoff. High prices = no sale.

Ok good luck and be sure to post some pics soon.

Ken,

This is my only ride...I hope to use it for offshore fishing occasionally, inshore fishing quite often and pleasure riding for the family a bit too..i have too small girls and need to make the ride as family friendly as possible without giving up the fishing advantages.

I know what you mean about motors. One would think there are deals all over the place, however there is not much to be found. I have several large boat builders around me, i am trying to work a deal with them on a motor or two for boats that they are no longer building because it is so slow for them....

good luck with your search...pics will be up when i find time (if that ever happens)

LL
