It's not just the wind in your face that is nice as you can just stick your head around the corner for a breeze. I found it would be nice to have the front window hinge because when I get up early to go fishing there is always condensation on the window which severly limits visibility, like your car in the morning.

i started a similar project on my own boat
i started by "squaring" the console - the console is built in a mold, ithas a negative draft, meaning it tapers.iftat taper i left, the pilot house can look like a "teepee"... i made a similar pattern, using underlayment,i set th forward window,as you did,at an angle... using compostes, penske board,to build mine here's the thead http://www.classicseacraft.com/commu...ad.php?t=23408 i own/operate a marine repair biz, finding time to work on my own boat has proved difficult if i have time to work on my own boat, that means i've got no other work - and that's not good !

Mine had the same taper. The sides are actually two pieces stacked on top of each other. The console had a little lip where the old windshield mounted. At that point I pegged it and straightened it back out so it was perfectly perpendicular with the ground. I glassed PVC to the back edge to give it stability and help mask this "kink". You can tell only if you really look at it.
