The right foot rest combined with proper height makes all the difference in the world with helm chairs. I went through a couple and ended up a with cheap Todd with no armrests. After I solved the foot rest and height issue the simplest helm chair worked the best.

I found that out when I put new seats in after the restoration.I tried the seats out in the garage by placing them up on five gallon buckets etc,and I wasn't crazy about the way it felt. But,once we got them set at height in the boat and got the foot rests in a proper height, It really did make a world of difference. they were a much more comfortable fit. It's funny, everyone on my boat loves to sit in the cheapest seat. It's a folding canvas camp/lawn chair that I got at Costco for about 15.00 bucks. It's on the port side, about in the middle of the boat.We all know that the ride in the Tsunami's/Sceptre's are great in the rough, but that seat in the middle is the best when its snotty.
