In 1999, while having my 79 MA transom rebuilt (and NOT advised to raise to a 25 inch), I agreed to order a 99 white Evinrude Ficht 175. Before ordering, mechanic called and advised a gray Johnson carbed 175. Yes that was excellent advice.

However, if neither engine has had a catastrophic failure to date, I'd offer the value of the boat and trailer, and run them til they do fail.?.

I still have not finished reading the owners post on THT regarding twin 2006 Etecs blowing within minutes of each other at 1200+ hours. Just sayin.

What's a 1999 carbed Johnson 175 with 162 original hours, always stored indoors, worth? Haha.
