Harvey is looking really crazy, moderate to high storm surge that will last for not just one, but several days, maybe a week. Combine that with pancake flat land, millions of people and 10-35 inches of rain over several days. All that water trying to drain but blocked by the storm surge. We have never seen anything like that. The flooding is going to be insane. Be ready to help.
Which brings me to Florida. The same thing could happen here. My house is high, but high enough? |

My buddy who lives near Houston just sent me this picture.
They have lived in this house for 32 years and have NEVER had flooding. Now they have taken refuge in the attic as the waters rise. This is serious business for sure. |

Lots of rain. All roads flooded near me. Worst part is dodging the tornadoes. My house is dry but most near are not so lucky.
Many volunteers are out assisting people. Water keeps coming... |
