Thought I would get a jump on the new motor. I hung it the other night and that’s as far as I got. Found the motor down in North Carolina 2009 Etec 300 500hrs. I cannot wait to get it rigged but am holding off until I cut the wrap off. Picked up a nice fighting post as well for the front casting deck.

I found it in CL in North Carolina. 7500$ with all controls and digital gauge. I also bought an Atlas 6” setback electric jack plate from him as well. The guy upgraded to a Suzuki 300.

Let me know when you guys tear into it. I’d love to check it out. The etec has a 21p prop that came with it. I will use that for the test mule and will be calling Prop Gods to dial in a 4 blade OSF. I loved it on the Yamaha when I got one. Especially to give some extra stern lift. And the bite was great.

Default Rigging

Finally pulled the trigger early this morning and decided it was time to cut the wrapper and get the 300Etec rigged and running. I picked up a used in good shape 4 blade cyclone 18p prop for it. They say they are suppose to add some stern lift. Anybody running one?? Hoping to have it up and running by next weekend and in the water but all depends on getting someone with some insight on how to prime the oil system on it.

Need to plug a laptop into it, or find someone with the Sierra STATS system and the BRP dongle.
There's a function in the software to prime the oil.

If youre a DIY'er and a little computer savvy you can buy the windows BRP dealer software and a cable on ebay.
Nice to be able to plug into it yourself and get trouble codes, check overall health, etc. etc.
If you add a water pressure transducer (recommended) you need to activate that in the software as well.

Ship Shops in Yarmouth could do it for you. Maybe Bosuns? Dont really know who's around up that end o' the Cape who pokes around with Etecs. Eagle Marine maybe?
