It is rather embarrassing, but since this a sharing & learning forum I’ll fess up. So I decided at the last moment I had the control cables reversed - which prevented the binnacle micro switch from engaging in the right place. Switched them back and she turned right over - no problem. I did take the binnacle out and tested the switch. I feel it had to be hookup mixup. Oh well.

I found while redoing my 18 that the excitement of getting back on the water clouded my thinking from time to time. Made my share of mistakes! Carry on!
