Default Re: Look familiar?

Yeh - this discussion has happened a few times. Trayder and I were checking out a 236 Sailfish at the show and it looked odd - even knowing that it was a certain Seacraft knockoff. It took a bit to register but we noticed that the strake that cuts thru the first hull plane at the bow is missing. Plus its nipped and tucked differently in the stern and there is a little more bow flair. The guy at the show was pretty good about it too. He said why should they try to hide that its based on one of the best hulls ever made... I was a little impressed with the Sailfish for the money, it had more value @ 40K than the real Seacraft 23 does at 68K (Mass pricing). The 266 streched Sailfish was OK too... The Sailfish 20 was a dead ringer...

I didn't talk to the guys at Silverhawk. They seemed to be mildly resenting the people streaming diaganoly across to the Seacraft booth. And the few double takes going back and forth.

I wanted to get a close look at them but I really didn't want to take the shoes off. I will say that the cuddy they built was pretty sharp though.

Who else knocks 'em off - Keywest, Casco Bay, who else?
