Tank Bomb.

My tank in this 89 23cc is original, built in 88. It doesn't leak and I am wondering if pulling it out, cleaning it real well and using mat/epoxy to give it a good wrap is a good idea. I imagine I would get good adhesion and avoid having to dish out $8oo for a tank If it did start to leak, it would be encased and still usable. Any thoughts either pro or con?
