deepsushi- my 78 18' has the drains out the transom- pingballs fixed most of the problem. also moved console and fuel tank 4" forward. 115 e-tec pushes boat just fine + weight - much less than 150...

I had good luck with local glass shop in Beaufort SC- they just used old windshield as a template. suggest calling around your area.

I bit the bullet and put a 115 etec on my 18 and its just the ticket. I don't run folks off the river, but its great on fuel and low noise. Weight issue not a problem. Trolls well. So far so good....

rayhawk. I have a 78 18 footer and have not had that problem except when I put her in weather that would wet most boats. I also would really not like to screw anything to my hull in that area.

sorry about mislead post on Bombadier (Johnson Evinrude) EFI 115 hp due out this fall. I just was stunned at the price estimate of 9000 for a 115. (I haven't priced motors in the last few years.) ...

Dealer told me today that the new EFI 115 due out this fall will be priced at $9000.00. Holys.......! I was afraid to ask about the 150.

ark - I have a 115 mariner (merc) on my 78 18. No problem with power even loaded. My concern w/ 4strokes is the weight. I think the suzi 115 4 weighs about the same as the 140 4 if you are...

Thanks for the help guys- as you know the amount of 'dealer/boat shop' misinformation is incredible. Most say -impossible DYI and rough/finish sand + 2 primer coats + several finish bottom coats etc...

as much as I hate it I must paint my 18 w/bottom paint. what is the recommended way to go with this and what works. The boat will be at the dock most of the summer here in Bluffton. Thanks js.

prop puller + transmission fluid soaked on shaft + plus a few taps with ahmmer on prop nut - works wonder most of the time- chainsaw a bad idea- everytime you swing it you bend the blade.

Check with Custom Plastics, Doug Turner- 305-232-1998. He is in S. Florida- has most of the seacraft molds- needs dimensions returns etc.
He was a big help to me on Seacraft windshields. I think...

I was just looking thru my 78 Spec book and turned to an old dreamboat of mine- I never hear of it? The 27 Master Angler- has anyone seen, been on, rode in, owned etc. why don't we see these boats....

thanks- jw-tex- I checked w/West online- price 299.99? the 209 came with sending unit, hose barb etc. I think it may fit-if I can read the boat specs correctly after all these years. do you prefer...

there seems to be a debate as to adv/disadvantage to aluminum vs fiberglass fuel tanks. SC18 takes a 30-or 45 gal tank..opinions about which is preferred. currently I have a 30 (usable) gal tank...

If this helps- I have a SC 18 -78. Motor history-78-90- 115 Evinrude. 91-present-115 mariner. Both pushed the boat well. For me weight is a factor as I use the live well and this makes it stern...
